Michelle Davina Hoogendoorn (born 12 November 1995), known by her stage name Davina Michelle, is a popular Dutch singer and YouTuber. She became famous for her amazing voice and hit songs.
In 2018, her cover of "Duurt te lang" became a number one hit in the Netherlands. This was a big deal because she was the first woman in 11 years to do this with a Dutch song. Her 2019 song "Hoe het danst" also reached number one. It was the first Dutch song to be streamed over 100 million times on Spotify.

In 2016, Michelle took part in the TV show Idols. She sang "Nobody's Perfect" by Jessie J. She made it through a few rounds but was later eliminated from the show.
In February 2017, Michelle started her own YouTube channel. She called herself Davina Michelle. Every week, she would upload her own version of an English song. On 21 August 2017, she shared her cover of "What About Us" by the American singer Pink.
A few months later, in October, Glamour magazine shared a video. In it, Pink herself watched Davina's cover. Pink said it was "amazing" and even "better than I will ever sound." Davina's video quickly became super popular. She was invited to perform on TV shows and in different places in the United States. As of October 2024, her video has been watched over 24 million times. Her YouTube channel has more than 1 million subscribers. Davina even got to open for Pink at her concert in The Hague in 2019!
In December 2017, Davina Michelle released a song called "Ga." She worked with the Efteling, a famous theme park, on this song. It was the official song for their musical Sprookjessprokkelaar.
Big Hits and Special Performances
In 2018, Davina Michelle joined the TV show Beste Zangers. In one episode, she sang a cover of "Duurt te lang" by Glen Faria. Just two days after the show aired, her version of the song became the most downloaded song on iTunes in the Netherlands. Later that year, it hit number one on the Dutch Top 40 and other charts. The song was even certified gold, meaning it sold a lot of copies.
In March 2020, Davina Michelle performed four "empty concerts" at the Rotterdam Ahoy. This was at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. She sang "17 miljoen mensen" with the artist Snelle. This song became a number one hit on the Dutch Top 40 for four weeks. It was only one minute and 47 seconds long, making it the shortest number-one song in Dutch history!
On 18 May 2021, Davina Michelle performed her new song "Sweet Water." She sang it at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam. This was part of a special show called "The Power of Water."
On 5 September 2021, Davina Michelle sang the Dutch national anthem. This was before the 2021 Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort. It was the first Formula 1 race in the Netherlands since 1985. She sang it again for the winners' ceremony after Dutch driver Max Verstappen won the race. Her song "Beat Me" was supposed to be the theme for the 2020 Grand Prix, but that race was cancelled.
