Dawesley is a small place, or 'locality', in South Australia. You can find it in the beautiful Adelaide Hills, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) southeast of Adelaide.
Dawesley sits right by Dawesley Creek, which flows into the Bremer River. The old Princes Highway also passes through Dawesley, connecting it to nearby towns like Nairne and Kanmantoo. It's part of an area called the Hundred of Kanmantoo.
In 2016, a count of people (called a census) showed that about 259 people lived in Dawesley.
What's the Story of Dawesley?
Dawesley was planned and created by a person named William Bower Dawes. He put the land up for sale at the District Hotel in Nairne on May 4, 1857.
A famous sheep station called Mount Beevor station is also nearby. It was once owned by T. Hope Murray, who was well-known for breeding sheep.
