Dayton Lakes is a small city in Liberty County, Texas, United States. In 2010, about 93 people lived there. By 2020, the population was 45.
Before 1985, Dayton Lakes was a fun place called Dayton Lake Estates. It was a planned community for recreation. In January 1985, the people who owned the land held an election. Residents voted to become an official city. They then asked the court in Liberty County to make it a city. The City of Dayton Lakes, TX, a non-profit group, was officially created on January 19, 1985. This document is how the city legally exists.

Where is Dayton Lakes Located?
Dayton Lakes is in the middle of Liberty County. It is about 11 miles northeast of Dayton. It is also about 17 miles north of Liberty by road. Liberty is the main city, or county seat, of the county. If you were a bird flying straight, it would only be 6 miles to Liberty.
The city of Dayton Lakes covers a total area of about 2.5 square kilometers. Most of this area, about 2.2 square kilometers, is land. The rest, about 0.3 square kilometers, is water. This means about 11.64% of the city's area is water.
