DeBolt is a small community called a hamlet in northern Alberta, Canada. It was named after Henry DeBolt, who was an early postmaster in the area. This community is located in census division No. 18.

Where is DeBolt?
DeBolt is found in an area known as Peace Country. It is about 58 kilometers (36 miles) east of Grande Prairie. It is also about 54 kilometers (34 miles) west of Valleyview. You can find DeBolt along Highway 43. The hamlet sits in the Smoky River valley. It is about 640 meters (2,100 feet) above sea level.
A specific rock layer, called the Debolt Formation, gets its name from this area. It was first found in a well about 10 kilometers (6 miles) north of the hamlet.
How Many People Live in DeBolt?
In 2021, a count of people (called a census) showed that 132 people lived in DeBolt. These people lived in 66 homes. This number was a bit higher than in 2016, when 121 people lived there. DeBolt covers an area of 2.79 square kilometers (1.08 square miles). This means there were about 47 people living in each square kilometer in 2021.
