DeVaughn Walter Nixon is an American actor born on July 8, 1983. He is well-known for his roles in popular movies like The Bodyguard and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. He has also appeared in TV shows such as Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty and Marvel's Runaways.

Early Life and Education

DeVaughn Nixon grew up in Los Angeles, California, where he was born in 1983. His father is the famous basketball player Norm Nixon. Interestingly, DeVaughn later played his own father in the HBO series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.

His stepmother is the talented actress, producer, director, and dancer Debbie Allen. He also has a half-sister, Vivian Nixon, who is a dancer, and a half-brother, Norman Ellard Nixon Jr., who plays basketball. DeVaughn is married to Lara Nixon.

When he was a child, DeVaughn lent his voice to a character in the animated movie Bebe's Kids. He also had a memorable role in the 1992 film The Bodyguard, where he played the son of pop superstar Whitney Houston. After these early acting experiences, he took a break from movies to focus on his studies. He went to Loyola Marymount University and earned degrees in television production and business finance.

Acting Career

After finishing his studies and working briefly as a mortgage broker, DeVaughn returned to acting. His first role back was in the film Monster Heroes. In 2011, he starred in the movie Prom.

He then appeared in many TV shows and movies, often in guest roles. In 2017, he got a regular role in the series Marvel's Runaways. A big moment in his career came in 2019 when he was chosen to play his father, Norm Nixon, in the HBO show Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.
