Vivian Nichole Nixon, born on May 31, 1984, is an American actress and dancer. She is known for playing Dr. Hannah Brody in the TV show Grey's Anatomy. She also voices the character Millie in the animated web series Helluva Boss.

Her Early Life
Vivian Nixon was born in Miami, Florida. She is one of three children. Her father is Norm Nixon, a former NBA basketball star. Her mother is the famous actress and dancer Debbie Allen. Vivian was named after her grandmother, Vivian Ayers-Allen. Her aunt is actress Phylicia Rashad. Her younger brother is also a basketball player, Norm E. Nixon Jr.
Vivian took gymnastics lessons when she was younger. However, her mother took her out of the sport at age 13 after another gymnast had a serious accident. After that, Vivian studied dance. She trained at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C.. She also studied at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, which her mother founded.
Her Career in Entertainment
Vivian Nixon has had a busy career as both a dancer and an actress. While she was still studying dance, she got a big role on Broadway. She played Kalimba in the musical Hot Feet. This show was based on the classic story of "The Red Shoes." Kalimba was a girl who loved to dance and could not stop!
In 2007, Dance Magazine named her one of their "25 to Watch." This is a special honor for rising dance stars. She has performed in many stage productions. These include West Side Story where she played Anita, and Pearl. She also toured Europe with West Side Story.
Vivian has also appeared in movies. She was in 500 Days of Summer and Top Five. On television, she had roles in the musical series Glee and Smash. From 2015 to 2020, she played Dr. Hannah Brody in the medical drama Grey's Anatomy. She also appeared in its spin-off show, Station 19. Since 2020, she has been the voice of Millie in the web series Helluva Boss.
Besides performing, Vivian Nixon is also involved in teaching. She works as an associate director at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy.
