Deborah was born in London, England. Her parents were from Nigeria. She lived in London as a child. When she was 8 years old, her family moved to San Jose, California in the United States.
In 2009, Deborah finished college at Howard University. She studied how to make films. While there, she won an award for being the best actress. This was for a short film she wrote and directed herself. Her film also won an award for its camera work.
