History of Dedham
Dedham started in 1881 when a railroad, the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway, was built through the area. The city was named after Dedham, Massachusetts, a town far away.
St. Joseph Parish Church
A church called St. Joseph Parish was started in 1891 by German and English Catholic families. They built their first church building in 1892. Later, in 1904, they built a bigger church. The church building you see today was officially opened on October 1, 1940.
