History of Delphos
Delphos was started in 1867. Two brothers, Levi and Dan Yockey, founded the city. They moved from a place called Delphos, Ohio. They decided to name their new home after their old one. Many people moved to this area after the American Civil War. They were looking for a new beginning.
Geography and Location
Delphos is a small city. It covers about 0.64 square miles (1.66 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. Only a tiny part is water.
The city is built along the Solomon River. It is also about five miles west of U.S. Route 81, a major highway.
