The Story of Deltora Quest
The land of Deltora is in danger! An evil sorcerer called the Shadow Lord has taken over. He destroyed a special magical item called The Belt of Deltora. This belt was the only thing protecting the land.
The story follows three brave heroes: Lief, Barda, and Jasmine. They go on an amazing journey across Deltora. Their mission is to find seven magical gems. Each gem's first letter spells out "DELTORA." When all the gems are found, they will be put back into the belt. This will save Deltora from the Shadow Lord.
Finding the Gems
Their adventure begins in the Forests of Silence. There, they find the Topaz gem. Next, they travel to the Lake of Tears. On their way, they meet new friends and fight against some of the evil sorceress Thaegan's children. They eventually defeat Thaegan and get the Ruby gem.
After escaping more traps, they visit a mysterious shop and meet a man named Doom. They reach the City of Rats and find the Opal gem. They even compete in the Rithmere Championships! With Doom's help, they escape danger again and find the Lapis Lazuli in the Shifting Sands.
Their journey continues to Dread Mountain, where they find the Amethyst. They face many challenges, including the slug-like Glus and Thaegan, who keeps coming back! They also meet new allies like Oacus and Dain. Finally, they reach the Valley of the Lost and find the last gem, the Diamond.
After many exciting battles, the Shadow Lord is finally defeated. Deltora is saved!

How Deltora Quest Was Made
The Deltora Quest anime was created by Genco and animated by OLM and SKY Perfect Well Think. Emily Rodda, the author of the books, was very involved. She made sure the TV show stayed true to her original stories. The first episode aired in Japan on January 6, 2007.
The show was directed by Mitsuru Hongō. The characters and designs were created by Hiroyuki Nishimura and Junya Ishigaki. The music for the Japanese version was composed by Kow Otani. For the English version, new music was created by John Mitchell and Tom Keenlyside.
Even though most of the animation was hand-drawn, some parts, like the Guardians, used computer graphics (CGI).
The series was very popular in Japan. Because of this, they made more episodes than originally planned, bringing the total to 65. The English version, however, mostly followed the original book series and ended with 52 episodes.
