Before becoming a professional, he played college football for the Michigan State Spartans. He was part of their team from 2010 to 2013. During his time there, his team won the Rose Bowl in 2013. After college, he spent some time with teams in the National Football League (NFL) on their practice squads. Later, he played in the CFL for Saskatchewan.
Playing Football in College
Denicos Allen grew up in Ohio. He played college football for Michigan State University. He was on the team from 2010 to 2013. During his college career, he made 278 tackles. A tackle is when a defensive player stops an offensive player.
He helped his team, the Michigan State Spartans, win a big championship. This was the Big Ten Conference championship in 2013. They also won the Rose Bowl game in 2014. The Rose Bowl is a very famous college football game. They beat Stanford in that game.
Playing Football as a Pro
After college, Denicos Allen tried to play in the National Football League (NFL). In 2014, he played in four preseason games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Preseason games are played before the regular season starts. He was later released from the team.
However, the Buccaneers signed him to their practice squad on November 25, 2014. A practice squad is a group of players who practice with the team. They can be called up to play in real games if needed.
