Deontae Skinner (born December 18, 1990) is a former American football player. He played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). Skinner played for the New England Patriots and New York Giants. He also played college football at Mississippi State.

Early Life
Deontae Skinner grew up in Macon, Mississippi. He played high school football at Noxubee County High School. In his senior year, he was named First-team All-State. He made 134 tackles and 11 sacks that year. He also had 122 tackles during his junior year.
College Career
Skinner played football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He was part of the team from 2010 to 2013. He spent his first year, 2009, as a "redshirt" player. This means he practiced with the team but did not play in games.
Professional Career
Deontae Skinner started his professional football career in 2014. He was not chosen in the NFL draft. However, he was signed by a team afterward.
New England Patriots
The New England Patriots signed Skinner in May 2014. He first joined their practice squad. Later, he was moved to the main team roster. Skinner made his NFL debut in September 2014. He helped the Patriots win Super Bowl XLIX. They beat the Seattle Seahawks in that championship game. He was released and re-signed to the practice squad a few times. He left the Patriots in May 2015.
Philadelphia Eagles
Skinner then signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in August 2015. He was released by the Eagles in September. He then joined their practice squad. In August 2016, Skinner was released by the Eagles.
New York Giants
On September 13, 2016, Skinner joined the New York Giants' practice squad. He was later promoted to the active roster. He played for the Giants during parts of the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He was released and re-signed by the team multiple times.
Oakland Raiders
Skinner was signed to the Oakland Raiders' practice squad. This happened on October 10, 2017.
Tennessee Titans
