College Basketball Journey
Desmon Farmer went to the University of Southern California (USC) for college. He played basketball there from 2000 to 2004. In his last two years, he was a strong player. He scored about 19 points in each game. He also grabbed almost five rebounds per game. He finished college in 2004.
Professional Basketball Career
After college, Desmon Farmer started his professional basketball career.
Early Years Overseas and in the D-League
In 2004, the Indiana Pacers in the NBA signed Farmer. However, he was released before the season began. After that, he played basketball in other countries. He played in Greece, Belgium, and Poland.
In 2005, Farmer came back to the U.S. He joined the NBA Development League (now called the G League). He played for the Tulsa 66ers during the 2005–2006 season. He averaged 16.4 points per game for the team.
Playing in the NBA
In October 2006, the Seattle SuperSonics signed Desmon Farmer. He played in eight games during the 2006–2007 NBA season. The team released him on January 4, 2007.
After playing for the 66ers and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the D-League, Farmer went to Puerto Rico. He played for Atléticos de San Germán for a few months in 2008.
On September 18, 2008, the San Antonio Spurs signed Farmer. He played in a few games for them. On November 16, he was released. This made space on the team for another player, Blake Ahearn.
Later Career and International Play
After leaving the Spurs, Farmer played for KK Zadar in Croatia for a short time. In November 2009, he signed with the Reno Bighorns in the D-League.
On October 1, 2010, Farmer signed with Ironi Ashkelon. This team is located in Israel.
He rejoined the Reno Bighorns on January 31, 2013.
On January 2, 2015, he signed with Sigal Prishtina. This team is from Kosovo. Desmon Farmer retired from professional basketball in 2015.
