Dian Paramita Sastrowardoyo (born March 16, 1982), often called Dian Sastro, is a famous Indonesian actress and model. She is best known for playing the main character, Cinta, in the popular Indonesian movie Ada Apa Dengan Cinta? from 2001.

Early Life and School
Dian Sastrowardoyo was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. Her father, Ariawan Sastrowardoyo, was an artist. Her mother, Dewi Parwati Sastrowardoyo, was a university teacher. Dian's family name, Sastrowardoyo, comes from two old words: sastra (meaning "writings") and wardaya (meaning "heart"). So, her name means "writings of the heart."
Dian went to junior high school at SMP Vincentius Otista Jakarta. She then attended SMA Tarakanita 1 for high school. After that, she studied at the University of Indonesia. She first studied law, but then changed to philosophy and earned her bachelor's degree in 2007. Later, she got a Master's degree in Finance Management in 2014. She graduated with high honors.
Career Highlights
Dian started her career as a model in 1996. She became the cover girl for Gadis, a popular teen magazine in Indonesia. She won a teen beauty contest called Gadis Sampul when she was 14 years old.
Her acting career took off when she starred in the movie Pasir Berbisik. This film was very successful and won her many awards. She became even more famous for her role as Cinta in the hit romance movie Ada Apa dengan Cinta? in 2002. This movie was a big success in both Indonesia and Malaysia. For this role, she won the Citra Award for Best Actress.
Since then, Dian has become one of Indonesia's most popular actresses. She has starred in many films like Banyu Biru, Ungu Violet, and Belahan Jiwa. She also appeared in the Malaysian film Puteri Gunung Ledang.
Dian has also appeared on television. She played Raya in Dunia Tanpa Koma. She also hosted a TV game show called Kuis Super Milyarder 3 Milyar. Besides acting, she has been a model for L'Oréal Paris Indonesia since 2010.
In 2016, she played Cinta again in Ada Apa Dengan Cinta? 2. This was the sequel to her famous movie. In the same year, Dian starred as Indonesia's national hero, Raden Adjeng Kartini, in the movie Kartini. In 2018, she starred in Aruna dan Lidahnya (Aruna and Her Palate).
More recently, in 2020, Dian starred in the comedy film Crazy Awesome Teachers, which was released on Netflix. In 2023, she played Jeng Yah in the Netflix series Cigarette Girl.
Personal Life
Dian Sastro married businessman Maulana Indraguna Sutowo on May 18, 2010. They have two children together. Their son, Shailendra Naryama Sastraguna Sutowo, was born in 2011. Their daughter, Ishana Ariandra Nariratana Sutowo, was born in 2013.
