Dianne Clare Oxberry (born August 13, 1967 – died January 10, 2019) was a well-known English TV and radio presenter. She was famous for her work at BBC North West. For 23 years, Dianne presented the weather forecasts on the regional news show North West Tonight. She was also a meteorologist, which means she studied and reported on the weather.

Dianne's Early Life
Dianne Oxberry was born on August 13, 1967. Her birthplace was Sunderland in County Durham, England. Her parents were Francis Joseph Oxberry and Margaret R. Dent.
Her Career in Broadcasting
Dianne started her career at the BBC as a personal assistant. This was at Radio 2. Before that, she tried out for a presenting job on a music show called No Limits.
Starting in Radio
Dianne began her broadcasting journey at Radio 1. She worked with famous DJs like Steve Wright. In March 1990, she joined Simon Mayo's team. She helped with his weekday breakfast radio show.
Moving to TV
In 1991, Dianne became a presenter for a children's TV show. It was called The 8:15 from Manchester. This show aired on Saturday mornings. While working on this show, she met her future husband, Ian Hindle, who was a cameraman.
Becoming a Weather Presenter
Dianne went to the Met Office College in Berkshire. There, she studied meteorology, which is the science of weather. After her studies, she joined BBC North West in 1995. She became their very first dedicated weather presenter.
Besides her weather reports, Dianne also co-hosted a breakfast show. This was on BBC Radio Manchester with Eamonn O'Neal. She also sometimes filled in as a newsreader and presenter for North West Tonight. Later in her career, she hosted Inside Out North West. This was a regional current affairs program.
Dianne's last appearance on North West Tonight was in mid-December 2018. A report she made for Inside Out was shown after her death. It was part of a special tribute program on January 21, 2019.
Dianne's Personal Life
Dianne Oxberry married Ian Hindle in 1993. They had two children together. The family lived in Sale, Greater Manchester.
Her Passing
Dianne Oxberry passed away on January 10, 2019. She was 51 years old. She died at the Christie Hospital in Manchester. This was shortly after she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Her death was announced to the public the next day.
Dianne's funeral was held on February 7, 2019. It took place at St Mary Magdalene's church in Sale. A memorial service was also held for her. This was at Manchester Cathedral three weeks later, on February 28, 2019. The mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, called Dianne "a true friend of the north west of England".
After Dianne's death, her husband, Ian Hindle, started a charity. This charity helps patients who are diagnosed with ovarian cancer. By April, the fund had raised more than £52,000 online.
