Dickens is a small city in Texas, United States. It is the main town, also known as the county seat, for Dickens County. This means it's where the county's government offices are located.

A famous person from Dickens County was Charles Weldon Cannon (1915–1997). He was known for making amazing boots and saddles right here in Dickens.

Dickens is located in the western part of Dickens County. It's nestled between some interesting natural areas. To the east, you'll find the Croton Breaks, and to the north is Mackenzie Peak.
Two important roads pass through Dickens. U.S. Route 82 goes through the city. If you drive east on this road for about 30 miles (48 km), you'll reach Guthrie. If you head west for about 62 miles (100 km), you'll get to Lubbock.
Texas State Highway 70 also crosses the western side of Dickens. Going north on this highway for about 28 miles (45 km) takes you to Matador. If you go southeast for about 34 miles (55 km), you'll arrive in Jayton.
