Diego Souza started his football career at a young age, joining youth teams before becoming a professional player. He has played for many different clubs throughout his career, showing his skills in Brazil and Japan.
Early Career and Youth Teams
Diego Souza began his football journey in the youth academies of big Brazilian clubs. From 1997 to 1998, he was part of the youth team at Corinthians. Then, from 1999 to 2001, he moved to the youth setup of Palmeiras. These early years helped him develop the skills he would use as a professional.
Playing for Professional Clubs
Diego Souza's professional career officially began in 2002 with Palmeiras. He spent several years with Palmeiras, even going on loan to other teams to gain more experience.
Time in Japan
A big part of Diego Souza's career was spent playing in Japan. He first moved to Japan on loan to Vissel Kobe in 2005. The next year, in 2006, he played for Kashiwa Reysol, where he scored 21 goals in 43 games, which is a great achievement for a midfielder!

After his time in Japan, Diego Souza returned to Brazil, playing for clubs like Portuguesa and América-RN. He also had a period playing in Mexico for Lobos BUAP.
Later Career and Montedio Yamagata
One of his longest stints was with Montedio Yamagata in Japan from 2014 to 2016. He played over 100 games for them and scored 32 goals, showing his consistent performance. More recently, he played for Voltaço before joining Taboão da Serra.
