He is known for being great at both serious and action roles in movies and TV shows in the Philippines. Dingdong has won many awards, including multiple Box Office Entertainment Awards and Best Actor awards from different film festivals and TV groups. He has also been nominated for many top awards.
Dingdong became very popular in the early 2000s. He starred in hit drama series like Sana ay Ikaw na Nga and Twin Hearts. Dingdong Dantes' Journey to Stardom
Starting Out as a Child Star
Dingdong Dantes was born in Quezon City, Philippines. He started his career very young, at just two years old, by appearing in a TV commercial for milk. After doing more commercials, he joined an all-male dance group called Abztract Dancers. His cousin, Arthur Solinap, was also in this group. They often performed on popular TV shows like Eat Bulaga! and That's Entertainment.
Dingdong's first movie role was in Shake, Rattle and Roll V. When he was 17, he joined the TV show T.G.I.S. on GMA Network. He was first paired with actress Antoinette Taus, and they became a very popular "love team" in the 1990s. He also appeared in films like Honey My Love So Sweet and TV shows such as Anna Karenina.
Becoming a Household Name in the 2000s
In 2001, Dingdong became a lead actor in the primetime TV series Sana ay Ikaw na Nga with Tanya Garcia. They also starred together in Twin Hearts in 2003. Dingdong also started hosting beauty pageants and reality shows like StarStruck. He played King Ybrahim in the fantasy TV series Encantadia.
In 2007, Dingdong took on the lead role of Sergio in Marimar, where he starred opposite Marian Rivera. This show made him even more famous. Dingdong also worked on films with other production companies. He was in the suspense film Segunda Mano with Kris Aquino and Angelica Panganiban. In 2012, he starred in My Beloved and another film, One More Try.

Recent Work in the 2020s
In 2020, Dingdong starred in the Philippine version of the popular South Korean TV series Descendants of the Sun. He played Capt. Lucas Manalo. In 2022, he returned as the host of Family Feud. He also starred in the drama Royal Blood and hosted The Voice Generations.
His recent films include Rewind, where he reunited with Marian Rivera, and Firefly, both released in 2023.
Dingdong Dantes' Personal Life
Dingdong Dantes proposed to his longtime girlfriend and co-star, Marian Rivera, on her dance show in August 2014. They first met while working on the set of Marimar in 2007. They got married on December 30, 2014, in Quezon City. Their wedding was called "The Royal Wedding" because they are known as the "primetime king and queen" of their network. They have two children: Maria Letizia, born in 2015, and Jose Sixto IV, born in 2019.
Dingdong is also a Lieutenant Commander in the Philippine Navy Reserve. He has several famous cousins who are also actors and TV personalities, including Arthur Solinap and Bianca Gonzalez.
