Enrique Mari Bacay Gil V (born March 30, 1992) is a famous Filipino actor and dancer. He has starred in many popular movies and TV shows. Some of his well-known roles include Alexander "Xander" Grande III in the TV series Forevermore. He played this role from 2014 to 2015 alongside Liza Soberano.
Since then, Enrique has appeared in films like Just the Way You Are (2015) and Everyday I Love You (2015). He also starred in TV series such as Dolce Amore (2016) and Bagani (2018).

Enrique Mari Bacay Gil V was born on March 30, 1992. His birthplace was Cebu City, Philippines. He is the second son of Enrique Amadeo Gil III and Barbara Anne Bacay. He has an older brother named Enrique Javier IV and a younger sister named Diandra Frances. His parents used to work as flight attendants for Philippine Airlines. Enrique is also related to actor Dingdong Dantes.
Enrique finished grade school in March 2004. He completed secondary school in March 2008. He started studying Information Technology in college. However, he paused his studies to focus on his acting career. In 2016, he began a Business Management Program. He attended Southville International School.

Starting His Career (2008–2011)
Enrique Gil began acting in 2008 when he was 16 years old. His mother encouraged him to join acting workshops. This helped him overcome his shyness. He then auditioned for Star Magic, a talent agency. Before becoming a part of Star Magic, he appeared in several TV commercials.
His first TV role was in the action-drama series Pieta. He played a character named Harold. In 2009, he joined the sitcom George and Cecil. He also acted in an independent film called Pitas.
In 2010, Enrique joined ASAP XV as one of the "Gigger Boys." He also starred in the TV series Rosalka. He got his first hosting job on the ABS-CBN teen variety show Shoutout!.
In 2011, Enrique got his first main role in the TV remake of Mula sa Puso. He also appeared in Your Song and Good Vibes. He was also in the film Way Back Home. Later, he played Benjamin “BJ” Maniego in Budoy.
Becoming a Popular Star (2012–2015)
In 2012, Enrique starred as Dasho Jao Rinpoche in Princess and I. This show became very popular on ABS-CBN. He also appeared in the romantic comedy film The Reunion. He then acted in his first horror film, Amorosa. Later that year, he was in The Strangers, which was part of the Metro Manila Film Festival.
In 2013, he played Juan Ponce Enrile in Maalaala Mo Kaya. He also appeared in the series Muling Buksan ang Puso. In October 2013, he starred in the film She's the One. Many people saw this as his big breakthrough as an actor.
Enrique became well-known for his dancing skills. He released a dance album called King of the Gil, which became a Gold record. Later, he held his first sold-out dance concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
In 2014, he joined the fantasy series Mirabella. He also released a song called "Do The Moves" with Sarah Geronimo and apl.de.ap. In May, he was named "Most Promising Male Star of the Year." In October 2014, he played the main role of Alexander "Xander" Grande III in Forevermore. This TV series was a huge success and made his career even bigger.
In June 2015, after the success of Forevermore, Enrique and Liza Soberano starred in the movie Just The Way You Are. Later that year, they starred in another romantic film, Everyday I Love You. Continued Success and Break (2016–2020)
In February 2016, Enrique and Liza Soberano returned to prime time TV with Dolce Amore. He played Simon Vicente "TenTen" Ibarra. In July 2016, Enrique was the main actor in the action film Dukot. He won "Best Actor" for his performance in this movie.
In 2017, Enrique starred in the romantic comedy film My Ex and Whys with Liza Soberano. This film was a big hit, earning a lot of money on its first day. He also played Dex in the family comedy-drama film Seven Sundays. Both films were among the highest-grossing Filipino films in 2017.
In 2018, he played Lakas, a warrior, in the fantasy series Bagani. The show was very popular and ranked number one in its time slot.
In 2019, Enrique and Liza Soberano starred in the romantic drama film Alone/Together. Enrique played Rafael "Raf" Toledo. This film was also one of the highest-grossing Filipino films in 2019.
In 2020, Enrique appeared with Liza Soberano in Make It With You. He played Gabriel "Gabo" Villarica. The show was later stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other network issues. This marked the end of his popular on-screen partnership with Liza Soberano.
Return to Entertainment (2023–Present)
In 2023, Enrique Gil signed a new contract with ABS-CBN. In 2024, he returned to the big screen after a three-year break with the film I Am Not Big Bird. This film was also his first time producing a movie.
Other Ventures
Helping Others (Philanthropy)
In 2013, Enrique joined a PETA campaign. The campaign aimed to move an elephant named Mali from the Manila Zoo to a sanctuary in Thailand. Mali is the only captive elephant in the Philippines and needed better care.
In the same year, Enrique donated some of the money from his King of the Gil concert. This money went to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. In 2015, Enrique and the cast of Forevermore played in a charity basketball game. This event helped build houses for typhoon victims. In July 2021, Enrique and Liza Soberano held a virtual fan meeting. They raised money for Save the Children, an organization that helps children in need.
Business Ventures
Enrique Gil launched his own fragrance line. A part of the sales went to Shop & Share, an organization that helps Filipinos get tested for COVID-19. In February 2021, he launched HKT Essentials with Liza Soberano. Some of the sales from this brand also went to Save the Children.
In January 2022, Enrique shared that he sold one of his house projects. This was part of his real estate development business called Gil Side Homes. He has been involved in buying and selling houses with his mother for some time.
Personal Life
Enrique Gil dated his Good Vibes co-star Coleen Garcia from 2010 to 2011.
In February 2019, Enrique and his frequent on-screen partner Liza Soberano publicly shared that they had been a couple since October 24, 2014. Their relationship ended in October 2022.
