Darin Michael "Dody" Wood, born on March 18, 1972, is a former professional ice hockey player from Canada. He played as a left winger. The San Jose Sharks picked him in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. He was the 45th player chosen overall.
Dody Wood played 106 games in the NHL for the San Jose Sharks. In December 1997, he was traded to the New Jersey Devils. He then played for the Albany River Rats for the rest of that season. Later, in September 2000, he joined the Vancouver Canucks as a free agent.
Wood also played for the IHL team, the Kansas City Blades. Fans voted him their most popular player twice. He also won awards for his community service. He wore number 16 for the Blades at first. When he returned, he wore number 13, but later switched back to 16. He also played a few games for the Memphis RiverKings and the Dayton Bombers.
After his time in the NHL, Wood continued to play hockey. He joined a senior league called the North Peace Hockey League. His team, the Horse Lake Thunder, even played for the Allan Cup. Many players he knew from his NHL career also played in this league. These included Gino Odjick, Sasha Lakovic, and Todd Holt.

Dody Wood started skating when he was five years old. His parents signed him up for a figure skating club. A year later, he joined the Chetwynd's Minor Hockey Association. This is where he learned to love the game of hockey.
Wood has three children. His son, Bayley, was born in 1997. He also has twin daughters, Zarah and Zinia, born in 2007.
In the 2012-2013 season, Wood coached a team called the CDMHA's Midget Giants. He said he was happy to volunteer for the same association that taught him about hockey. Dody Wood is from Chetwynd, British Columbia. He is also of Saulteau First Nations background.
