Doe Lake is a beautiful lake located in the Parry Sound District of Ontario, Canada. It is known for being the biggest lake in the Almaguin Highlands area, which is part of the Magnetawan River system. The lake is actually made up of three main parts. Locals often call these Big Doe Lake, Middle Doe Lake, and Little Doe Lake because of their different sizes.
The communities of Katrine and Doe Lake are found right on the lake's shores. Katrine has a small marina and is located on the Little Doe section. The community of Doe Lake is a spread-out rural area nearby. Many vacation homes, also called cottages, can be found around the lake. There are also places where you can rent cottages or go camping for a fun getaway.

Doe Lake has been a popular spot for summer camps over the years. These camps offer fun activities and learning experiences for young people.
Doe Lake Girl Guide Camp
The Doe Lake Girl Guide Camp is a special place for girls. It was started in 1949 on a large piece of land, about 625 acres. Every summer, girls from all over Ontario and other parts of Canada come to this camp. They learn new skills, make friends, and enjoy the outdoors.
Big Doe Camp
Another camp that has been part of Doe Lake's history is the Big Doe Camp.
World Camp for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts
In 1957, Doe Lake was chosen as one of four special locations for a big international event. This event was called the World Camp for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. It celebrated the 100th birthday of Lord Baden-Powell, who founded the Guiding movement.
Girls and young women from around the world gathered at Doe Lake. Other World Camp locations were in the Philippines, Switzerland, and England. This event brought together young people from different cultures to share experiences and learn from each other.
