Domènec Sugrañes i Gras (born December 12, 1878 – died August 9, 1938) was a talented architect from Catalonia, Spain. He followed the modernism style, which was popular at the time. Sugrañes was a student and close friend of the famous architect Antoni Gaudí.

After Gaudí passed away in 1926, Sugrañes took over his most important project: the church of the Sagrada Família. He was in charge of the building work for ten years, until 1936. During this time, he helped finish the beautiful Nativity Façade of the church.

About Domènec Sugrañes

Gaudí first met Sugrañes in 1905. At that time, Sugrañes was finishing his architecture studies. From then on, Sugrañes worked on many of Gaudí's projects.

For example, he helped decorate the Bellesguard house. He added mosaic seating banks there in 1917. Sugrañes also worked on the house of Hermenegild Miralles. Gaudí only designed the entrance gate for this property. Sugrañes also helped with other famous buildings like the Casa Batlló and Casa Milà.

Sugrañes became very close to Gaudí. Gaudí even chose him to manage his will and property after he died.
