Dontrelle Inman (born January 31, 1989) is a former American football player. He was a wide receiver, catching passes for his team. Dontrelle played college football at the University of Virginia. After college, he joined the Jacksonville Jaguars in the National Football League (NFL) in 2011. He also won a championship called the Grey Cup with the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 2012. Dontrelle played for many different teams during his career.

Dontrelle Inman's Football Journey
Starting with the Jaguars
After college, Dontrelle Inman was not chosen in the 2011 NFL draft. However, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed him as a free agent on July 26, 2011. He was released from the team a short time later, on September 4.
Playing in Canada: Toronto Argonauts (First Time)
In 2012, Inman moved to Canada to play for the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League (CFL). In his first season, he caught 50 passes for 803 yards. He also scored five touchdowns. Inman and the Argonauts won the 100th Grey Cup, which is the CFL championship.
In 2013, Inman continued to play well. He had 50 catches for 739 yards and six touchdowns. In one game, he even had to punt the ball three times when the team's regular kicker was hurt. The Argonauts released Inman on December 24, 2013.
Joining the Chargers (First Time)
On January 6, 2014, Inman signed a contract with the San Diego Chargers. This contract meant he would join the team for the next season. In his first preseason game, he caught three passes for 107 yards. This included a 70-yard touchdown! He played well enough to earn a spot on the main roster.
Inman caught his first NFL pass on December 20, 2014. His 17-yard catch helped the Chargers win in overtime. He finished the 2014 season with 12 catches for 158 yards.
In 2015, Inman made the Chargers' roster again. He had a big 68-yard catch against the Cleveland Browns. On October 18, he caught a touchdown with no time left in the game. He ended the 2015 season with 35 catches for 486 yards and three touchdowns.
The Chargers kept Inman for the 2016 season. In 2017, the team placed a special "tender" on him, meaning they wanted to keep him. He signed this agreement on April 25. He later had surgery on a core muscle.
Time with the Chicago Bears
On October 25, 2017, Inman was traded to the Chicago Bears. In his first game with the Bears on November 12, he caught 6 passes for 88 yards. He finished the rest of the season with 17 catches for 246 yards and one touchdown. After the season, he became a free agent.
Playing for the Indianapolis Colts (First Time)
On October 16, 2018, the Indianapolis Colts signed Inman. This happened after another player, Marcus Johnson, got injured. Inman played for the Colts for the rest of that season.
Short Stay with the New England Patriots
Inman signed a one-year contract with the New England Patriots on May 13, 2019. However, he asked to be released from the team on August 18, and the Patriots agreed.
Back with the Chargers (Second Time)
Just two days later, on August 20, 2019, Inman signed with the Los Angeles Chargers again. He was placed on injured reserve on October 2 because of a quad injury. He was released from the team on November 25.
Back with the Indianapolis Colts (Second Time)
On December 10, 2019, Inman signed with the Indianapolis Colts for a second time. He played in three games, catching 4 passes for 49 yards.
Playing for the Washington Football Team
Inman signed with the Washington Football Team on August 4, 2020. In Week 3, he caught three passes for 38 yards and scored two touchdowns. Washington lost that game 34–20. He was later released by the team on December 26. He rejoined their practice squad a few days later. He was moved to the main roster for a game on January 2, 2021, and again for a playoff game on January 8. His contract with the team ended after the season.
Return to the Toronto Argonauts (Second Time)
On March 1, 2023, the Toronto Argonauts announced they had signed Inman again. However, after only one day of training camp, he announced his retirement from football on May 15, 2023.
