History of Dorignac's
Joseph Dorignac, Jr. started the first Dorignac's grocery store in 1947. It was in a different part of New Orleans called the Lower Garden District. Later, in 1963, the store moved to its current spot on Veterans Highway. After Joseph Dorignac, Jr. passed away, his son, Joseph Dorignac III, took over the business. Today, the Dorignac family still owns and runs the store.
