Double Trouble State Park is a cool place to visit in Ocean County, New Jersey. It's located in Berkeley and Lacey Townships, in the state of New Jersey. This park used to be a special kind of town called a company town. A company town is where a company owns most of the homes and businesses.
The park is also part of the Pine Barrens. This is a huge, unique forest area in New Jersey. The New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry takes care of the park. It was opened in 1964.

Discover the Historic Village
The Double Trouble Historic Village was once a busy cranberry farm. It also had a factory for packing cranberries. A man named Edward Crabbe started the Double Trouble Company in 1909. They sold wood, building materials, and, of course, cranberries.
Sawmills have been in this area since the mid-1700s. The village today has cranberry bogs and 14 old buildings. These buildings have been fixed up and show what life was like from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. You can see a general store, a schoolhouse, and old homes. The sawmill was restored in 1995. The cranberry sorting and packing house was finished in 1996.
How the Village Got Its Name
Have you ever wondered why it's called "Double Trouble"? The town got its name because of some busy muskrats! They broke a local dam not just once, but twice in the same week. That caused "double trouble" for the people living there!
