Double Trouble State Park is a cool place in Ocean County, New Jersey. It's found in Berkeley and Lacey Townships. This park used to be a small town owned by the Double Trouble company. The wild areas of the park are part of the special Pine Barrens ecosystem. The New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry takes care of the park.

Explore Double Trouble Historic Village
The Double Trouble Historic Village was once a busy place. It was a cranberry farm and a factory. Here, cranberries were sorted and packed. Edward Crabbe started the Double Trouble Company in 1909. They sold wood, building materials, and cranberries. Sawmills have been in this area since the mid-1700s.
The village has cranberry bogs and fourteen old buildings. These buildings have been fixed up. They show what life was like from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. You can see a general store, a schoolhouse, and old homes. The sawmill was restored in 1995. The cranberry sorting and packing house were finished in 1996.
The town got its unique name because of muskrats! They broke a local dam two times in just one week. That's double the trouble!

Double Trouble Historic District
The Double Trouble Historic District is a special area. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 23, 1978. This was because of its important history in farming and industry.
Cedar Creek's Journey
Cedar Creek starts in the Greenwood Forest Management Area. It flows all the way to Barnegat Bay. This creek is super important for the park. It provides water for growing cranberries. It also gives water to all the wildlife living there.
Hiking the Nature Trail
Double Trouble State Park has a fun nature trail. It's a loop trail that is about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) long. This trail is a great way to explore the park's natural beauty. It is also part of the New Jersey Coastal Heritage Route.
