Douglas A. Crossman (born June 13, 1960) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He played for 14 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). Doug Crossman was born in Peterborough, Ontario.
Doug Crossman's Hockey Journey
Doug Crossman began his hockey career early. He was chosen in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. The Chicago Black Hawks picked him in the sixth round. Before joining the NHL, he played for the Ottawa 67's. He was a very good player in junior hockey.
Doug played many games in the NHL. He played for eight different teams during his career. These teams included the Chicago Black Hawks and Philadelphia Flyers. He also played for the Los Angeles Kings and New York Islanders. Later, he joined the Hartford Whalers and Detroit Red Wings. His last NHL teams were the Tampa Bay Lightning and St. Louis Blues.
He played a total of 914 NHL games. This is a very long and successful career for any player! Doug was also a member of the Canadian National team. He played in the 1987 Canada Cup. This was a big international hockey tournament.
In 1995, Doug won a major championship. He helped his team, the Denver Grizzlies, win the Turner Cup. This was a great achievement for him. He retired from playing hockey in 1996. Doug Crossman had a long and impressive career in ice hockey.
