Douglas is a small town located in Marshall County, Alabama, in the United States. It's part of a larger area called the Huntsville–Decatur Combined Statistical Area. In 2020, about 761 people lived there. Douglas officially became a town in 1978.

History of Douglas
People first started settling in the Douglas area in the mid-1800s. The town's first school opened in 1898. Later, Douglas Academy was built in 1909, helping more students learn and grow.
Geography and Location
Douglas is found in the southern part of Marshall County. You can find it at these coordinates: 34°10′18″N 86°19′12″W / 34.17167°N 86.32000°W.
Where is Douglas?
The town's main area is where two roads, State Route 75 and State Route 168, meet. It's about 9 miles southwest of Albertville. Douglas is also 11 miles west of Boaz and 6 miles northeast of Snead. Guntersville Lake is about 15 miles north of Douglas.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Douglas covers a total area of about 3.4 square miles (8.8 square kilometers). Only a tiny part of this, about 0.01 square miles (0.02 square kilometers), is water. Douglas sits about 940 feet (287 meters) above sea level. It is located on the southwest end of Sand Mountain. The town is also within the area where water flows into the Locust Fork of the Black Warrior River, which is about 5 miles southwest of the town.
