Creating "Down to Earth"

This song was released as a special single to promote the Pixar movie WALL·E. It became available for digital download on July 6, 2008.

Peter Gabriel shared his thoughts about working on the movie. He said, "As a kid I loved animation, so I'm a huge Pixar fan." He also mentioned that he had seen WALL·E many times because he has young children. Gabriel also enjoyed working with the movie's composer, Thomas Newman. He thought Newman wrote the best TV theme song ever for Six Feet Under.
