Early Life in Compton
Andre Wicker was born and grew up in Compton, California. He spent some time in a youth facility in Camarillo until 1993.
Music Career Highlights
While Andre was in the youth facility, he started writing song lyrics. He became known for his rapping skills. Soon after he was released, he and B.G. Knocc Out signed with Eazy-E's Ruthless Records.
Their first big song was "Real Muthaphuckkin G's" in 1993. It was on Eazy-E's album It's On (Dr. Dre) 187um Killa. The song was later changed to "Real Compton City G's" for radio and TV. This song was a reply to other rappers like Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
In 1995, Dresta and B.G. Knocc Out released their first and only album, Real Brothas. Later that year, they were featured on three songs from Eazy-E's album Str8 off tha Streetz of Muthaphukkin Compton. This album was released after Eazy-E passed away.
After B.G. Knocc Out was unable to make music for a while in 1998, Dresta worked with Death Row Records. He appeared on two songs from their album Too Gangsta for Radio. However, he never officially signed with Death Row Records.
Dresta has mentioned in interviews that he is working on new music. This includes a series of mixtapes called Dirty West and a solo album. He has also hinted that Real Brothas might be released again. Dresta wrote a song for Dr. Dre's album Detox, but Dr. Dre did not use it.
