Duane Eddy Washington Jr., born on March 24, 2000, is a professional basketball player from America and Germany. He plays for Partizan Mozzart Bet in Serbia. This team competes in the Basketball League of Serbia (KLS), the ABA League, and the EuroLeague. Duane Jr.'s father, Duane Washington, was also a professional basketball player in the NBA. Duane Jr. played college basketball for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Growing Up and High School Basketball
Duane was born in Frankfurt, Germany. At that time, his father was playing basketball for a team there called Skyliners Frankfurt. Duane grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. For his first three years of high school, he went to Grand Rapids Christian High School. During his junior year, he scored about 13.1 points and made 4.5 assists per game.
Before his senior year, Duane moved to Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles. He transferred to live with his uncle, Derek Fisher, who was also a famous basketball player. While at Sierra Canyon, Duane played with other talented young players like Scotty Pippen Jr., Cassius Stanley, and Kenyon Martin Jr.. In his senior year, he averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.
Choosing a College Team
Many colleges wanted Duane to play for them. ESPN rated him as a four-star recruit, which means he was considered a very good player. Other sports websites like 247Sports and Rivals called him a three-star recruit. On September 20, 2017, Duane decided to play college basketball for Ohio State. He chose Ohio State over other big schools like Michigan and UCLA.

College Basketball Career
In his second game playing for Ohio State, Duane scored 20 points in just 21 minutes. He came off the bench, meaning he wasn't a starting player. In his first year, he played in 35 games and started two of them. He averaged 7 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
During his second year, Duane scored 20 points in a game two times. He was suspended for one game because he didn't meet the team's standards. Overall, he played in 28 games and started 15. He averaged 11.5 points per game, which was the second-highest on his team.
In his third year, Duane scored a career-high 30 points in a close game against Michigan. Later, in the NCAA tournament, Ohio State played against Oral Roberts. In the final seconds of an overtime game, Duane missed a shot that would have tied the game. He averaged 16.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game that season.
On March 31, 2021, Duane announced he would enter the 2021 NBA draft. This meant he was hoping to be chosen by an NBA team. He first kept the option to return to college, but on June 29, he decided to stay in the draft.
Professional Basketball Journey
Playing for the Indiana Pacers (2021–2022)
Duane was not chosen in the 2021 NBA draft. However, on August 5, 2021, he signed a special "two-way contract" with the Indiana Pacers. This meant he would split his time playing for the Pacers and their G League team, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
On January 24, 2022, Duane had a great game for the Pacers. He scored 21 points and made seven three-pointers. This set a new record for the most three-pointers made by a rookie in Pacers history. On April 7, the Pacers changed his two-way contract to a regular NBA contract. However, on July 14, 2022, the Pacers decided to let him go.
Time with the Phoenix Suns (2022–2023)
On August 3, 2022, Duane signed another two-way contract, this time with the Phoenix Suns. On December 27, he had his best game yet, scoring 26 points, grabbing four rebounds, and making eight assists in a win against the Memphis Grizzlies. On February 1, 2023, the Suns also decided to let him go.
With the Westchester Knicks (2023–2024)
Duane signed several two-way contracts with the New York Knicks and their G League team, the Westchester Knicks, between February 2023 and January 2024. He joined the team for the 2024 playoffs but did not play in any games.
Joining Partizan Belgrade (2024–Present)
On August 20, 2024, Duane signed with Partizan Mozzart Bet, a team in Serbia. He played in two ABA League games, averaging 6.5 points in about 8.5 minutes of play.
On October 2, 2024, Duane signed with the New York Knicks again. He was then traded to the Charlotte Hornets as part of a big trade involving three teams. However, he was let go by the Hornets on October 9. Five days later, he rejoined Partizan Mozzart Bet.
In his first season with Partizan, he averaged 7.6 points and 1.7 rebounds in 19 EuroLeague games. He shot 38.2% from the field. During the 2024–25 season, Partizan won the ABA League championship for the eighth time. They also won the Serbian League championship, which was their first win in 11 seasons. Duane played very well in the Serbian League Playoff and was named the top scorer and the Playoff MVP.

Personal Life and Family
Duane comes from a family of basketball players. His father, Duane Washington Sr., and his uncle, Derek Fisher, both played in the NBA. Through his uncle, Duane became close with the late basketball legend Kobe Bryant. Duane's cousin, Setric Millner Jr., is also a basketball player. They lived together when they attended Grand Rapids Christian High School. Duane is a citizen of both the United States and Germany.
