Duane Eddy Washington Jr. (born March 24, 2000) is an American professional basketball player. He plays for Partizan Belgrade in Europe. His father, Duane Washington, was also a professional basketball player. Duane Jr. played college basketball for the Ohio State Buckeyes before turning pro.

Growing Up and High School
Duane Washington Jr. was born in Frankfurt, Germany, because his dad was playing basketball there. He grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. For his first three years of high school, he went to Grand Rapids Christian High School. He was a great player, scoring about 13 points and making 4 assists per game.
Before his last year of high school, Duane moved to Los Angeles. He went to Sierra Canyon School to live with his uncle, Derek Fisher, who was a famous NBA player. At Sierra Canyon, Duane played with other talented young players like Scotty Pippen Jr. and Kenyon Martin Jr.. In his senior year, he averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.
After high school, Duane decided to play college basketball for Ohio State. He chose Ohio State over other big schools like Michigan and UCLA.
College Basketball Journey
Duane started his college career strong at Ohio State. In just his second game, he scored 20 points in 21 minutes! During his first year, he played in 35 games and averaged 7 points per game.
In his second year, Duane continued to improve. He scored 20 points in a game two times. He played in 28 games and started 15 of them. He was the second-highest scorer on his team, averaging 11.5 points per game.
His junior year was his best in college. Duane scored a career-high 30 points in a tough game against Michigan. He averaged 16.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game that season. After this great year, Duane decided to enter the 2021 NBA draft to become a professional player.
Playing Pro: NBA and Beyond
Indiana Pacers: First Steps
Even though Duane wasn't picked in the 2021 NBA draft, he still got a chance to play in the NBA. He signed a contract with the Indiana Pacers in 2021. He also spent some time playing for their minor league team, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. On January 24, 2022, Duane had an amazing game, scoring 21 points and making seven 3-pointers. This set a new record for a Pacers rookie!
Phoenix Suns: New Challenges
After his time with the Pacers, Duane signed with the Phoenix Suns in August 2022. He continued to show his scoring ability. On December 27, he scored a career-high 26 points against the Memphis Grizzlies. He also had 8 assists in that game, helping his team win.
Westchester Knicks: G League Action
In 2023, Duane joined the New York Knicks organization. He played for their G League team, the Westchester Knicks. He signed a few contracts with the Knicks, showing his determination to stay in the NBA.
Partizan Belgrade: Playing in Europe
In August 2024, Duane decided to play basketball in Europe. He signed with Partizan Belgrade, a well-known team that plays in several leagues, including the EuroLeague. This is a big step for him to play against top teams in Europe.

Family and Fun Facts
Duane comes from a family of basketball players! His father, Duane Washington Sr., and his uncle, Derek Fisher, both played in the NBA. Because of his uncle, Duane became good friends with the famous basketball legend, Kobe Bryant. Duane also has a cousin, Setric Millner Jr., who plays basketball. They even lived together for a while in high school. Duane is a citizen of both the United States and Germany.
