Dunhill (which means "cliff fort" in Irish) is a small village in County Waterford, Ireland. It is a friendly community with a church, a primary school, and a local shop. The village is also home to an enterprise park called Dunhill Ecopark, which started in 2000.

Religion in Dunhill
The main church in Dunhill is called the Sacred Heart. It is the third church to be built on this particular site. The first church building was put up in 1798. This happened after an older church in a nearby area called Shanaclune was no longer used.
Education and Community Projects
Dunhill has its own national school for children. For adults, there is the Dunhill Ecopark. This park was created in the year 2000. Its main goal is to help people start new businesses. It also helps to create jobs in the area. The Ecopark encourages a spirit of entrepreneurship in the community.
Sports in Dunhill
If you enjoy sports, Dunhill has a great Sports Centre. It also has a GAA pitch. These facilities are located on Cois Cille road. The local Dunhill GAA club is very active. Each year, they enter teams in both Gaelic football and hurling. This includes two adult hurling teams and one adult Gaelic football team.
Exploring Dunhill's History
The ruins of Dunhill Castle are a famous landmark. This old tower house stands on a rocky hill south of the village. In 1641, the castle was owned by John Power. People traditionally believe that this ancient fort was captured by Oliver Cromwell in the 1600s.
Other interesting historical sites are also found nearby. These include an earthwork, an old font, and a megalithic tomb. There are also two ringforts, which are old circular forts.
The Anne Valley Walking Trail
The Anne Valley Walk is a wonderful nature trail. It is about 5 kilometers long. This greenway follows the beautiful River Anne. The path is smooth and made of gravel. It's great for walking, buggies, and wheelchairs.
The trail starts near Dunhill Anne Valley. It goes about 2.2 kilometers to Dunhill Castle. From there, it continues for another 2.6 kilometers. The walk ends at Annestown Beach. Along the way, you can see lots of wildlife. Keep an eye out for mute swans, pheasants, and ducks. You might also spot many smaller local bird species.
