The General Guadalupe Victoria International Airport (also known as Durango International Airport) is a busy airport in Durango, Mexico. Its official codes are DGO (for airlines) and MMDO (for air traffic control). The airport is named after Guadalupe Victoria, who was the very first President of Mexico. You can find it northeast of Durango City.
In 2008, the airport's main building got a big upgrade. It was expanded and completely remodeled. This included new waiting areas for both national and international flights. These new areas offer great views of the apron, which is where planes park. They also added two new carousels to help passengers get their bags faster. In 2009, the area where planes park was made bigger. The main runway (03/21) and the paths planes use to move around (taxiways) were also completely redone. These improvements helped the airport handle more flights and passengers.
The airport serves many travelers. In 2020, about 271,231 passengers used the airport. This number grew quite a bit in 2021, with 446,030 passengers traveling through Durango International Airport.
