Eagle Butte is a city located in South Dakota, a state in the United States. It is found in two counties: Dewey and Ziebach. In 2020, about 1,258 people lived there. The city is right next to a place called North Eagle Butte CDP.

About Eagle Butte
Eagle Butte is a very important place for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. It is their main office, or "tribal headquarters." This means it's where the tribe's leaders and government work. The city is located on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation, which is land set aside for the tribe.
The city got its name from a nearby landform also called Eagle Butte.
