History of Eagleville

How Eagleville Got Its Name

The new name, "Eagleville," came from a story. People say a very large eagle was killed nearby. This event inspired the town's new name.

Joining Rutherford County

Eagleville was part of Williamson County for many years. But in 1877, Williamson County would not build a road. This road would have connected Eagleville to Franklin, the county seat. So, Eagleville decided to join Rutherford County instead.
