The East Branch Piscataqua River is a small river in Maine, United States. It flows for about 10.2-mile-long (16.4 km), which is roughly 16.4 kilometers. This river is a branch, or "tributary," of the larger Piscataqua River. Eventually, its waters join the Presumpscot River before reaching the ocean at Casco Bay.
Where Does the River Flow?
The East Branch Piscataqua River begins its journey between the towns of Yarmouth and North Yarmouth. From there, it flows towards the southwest.
Journey Through Towns
As the river continues, it passes through the town of Cumberland. Finally, it reaches Falmouth. In Falmouth, the East Branch meets the main Piscataqua River. This meeting point is just a short distance upstream from where the Piscataqua River itself flows into the Presumpscot River.
