The East Desert Range is a mountain range found in Lincoln County, Nevada. It stretches across the landscape, forming a natural border for several valleys and other mountain ranges in the area.
Exploring the East Desert Range
This mountain range runs mostly from the northwest to the southeast. It is located near the Three Lakes Valley. A large natural feature in this valley is Dog Bone Lake. The East Desert Range sits mainly to the north and northeast of Three Lakes Valley.
Southern Connections
The southern part of the East Desert Range connects with hills that are part of the Desert Range. The Desert Range is another mountain chain located to the south. It curves around the Three Lakes Valley towards the southwest.
In the lower hills between these two ranges, you'll find a place called Sheep Pass. This pass leads towards Desert Valley and Desert Lake. These areas are located to the west of the Sheep Range. This region also includes Surprise Canyon, which flows directly west into the eastern side of Dog Bone Lake in Three Lakes Valley.
