East Vistas is a community located in central Alberta, Canada. It's not a city or town with its own mayor, but it's part of Leduc County. You can find it just west of Beaumont and northeast of Leduc. It's also very close to the Nisku Industrial Business Park, a large area with many businesses.
History of East Vistas
East Vistas was officially approved by the Leduc County Council on September 28, 2010. The plan for this community is to grow quite a bit. It's expected to have around 22,549 people living there once it's fully developed.
Right now, East Vistas includes two main neighborhoods. One is called Lukas Estates, which has larger homes on bigger pieces of land. The other is Diamond Estates, which also features large lots for homes.
Leduc County hopes that East Vistas will become a major urban community for them. This is similar to how Strathcona County has its own large community called Sherwood Park.
Where is East Vistas Located?
East Vistas has clear boundaries that help define its area. To the south, it's bordered by Highway 625. On the east side, you'll find Range Road 244. To the north, its boundary is Township Road 510, and to the west, it's Range Road 245.
The community also includes some land west of Range Road 245. This part is located between the Vistas country residential areas to the south and Irvine Creek and Township Road 510 to the north.
People Living in East Vistas
Every few years, Canada counts its population in what's called a census. In the 2021 Census of Population, East Vistas had 660 people living there. They lived in 158 homes out of 163 available.
This was a big jump from 2016, when only 15 people lived in East Vistas! The community covers an area of about 5.72 square kilometers (about 2.21 square miles). This means that in 2021, there were about 115 people living in each square kilometer.
