Edward Laquan Williams, born on November 1, 1964, is a former professional baseball player from the United States. He played as a first baseman and third baseman during his career.
Eddie Williams' Baseball Journey
Eddie Williams started his professional baseball career after being chosen by the New York Mets. This happened in the first round of the 1983 Major League Baseball draft. He was drafted right after graduating from Herbert Hoover High School in San Diego, California.
Playing in the Major Leagues
Eddie made his first big league appearance with the Cleveland Indians on April 18, 1986. He played for several teams in Major League Baseball (MLB) over the years. Some of these teams included the Chicago White Sox, San Diego Padres, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Pittsburgh Pirates. His final game in MLB was on May 27, 1998, while playing for the San Diego Padres.
Playing Overseas
Besides playing in the United States, Eddie also played baseball in other countries. He spent one season in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) league. In 1991, he played for the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks. Later, in 2000, he played one season in South Korea's KBO League for the Hyundai Unicorns.
