Edman Ayvazyan (born August 10, 1932 – died March 25, 2020) was a famous Iranian-Armenian painter. He made history by becoming the first Iranian artist to join the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. This is a very respected art group in the United Kingdom.

Who Was Edman Ayvazyan?
Edman Ayvazyan was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1932. From a young age, he showed a great talent for art. He became known for his amazing paintings.
His Artistic Journey
Ayvazyan painted many different things. He created beautiful portraits, which are paintings of people. He also painted landscapes, showing scenes of nature, and seascapes, which are pictures of the sea.
He also brought famous stories to life through his art. For example, he painted scenes from "Daredevils of Sassoun", an old Armenian epic tale. He also created art inspired by the works of Hovhannes Tumanyan, a famous Armenian writer.
You can find his artworks in many important places. Some of his paintings are in churches and museums, like the Lazar Gallery. You can also see his art at the House-Museum of Aram Khachaturian.
In 1982, he made a very special artwork for the Royal Mosque at King Khalid International Airport. This was a huge band of beautiful marble mosaic with Arabic writing around the main dome. It showed his skill in different art forms.
His Later Years
Edman Ayvazyan passed away on March 25, 2020, in London, England. He died due to COVID-19.

From 1950 to 1990, Edman Ayvazyan's art was shown in many places. He had both group shows with other artists and his own solo exhibitions. These shows took place in Iran, Armenia, the UK, and the United States.
