Website Edmonton Ski Club

The Edmonton Ski Club is a fun place for skiing and snowboarding in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It's located in Gallagher Park, right next to downtown Edmonton. From the top of the hill, you get an amazing view of the city skyline and the Muttart Conservatory.

This ski club is a not-for-profit group that started way back in 1911. It's open during the winter months for everyone to enjoy. You can ski or snowboard on its slopes, which are covered with machine-made, groomed snow. The club has four different lifts to take you up the hill. These include two Poma handle tow lifts, a T-Bar, and a 280-foot-long SunKid carpet lift that was added in 2019.

Did you know that Canadian Olympian Jennifer Heil, who won a gold medal in freestyle skiing, learned her skills right here at the Edmonton Ski Club? It's a great place for future champions!

The Edmonton Ski Club closed for one season but happily reopened in December 2019.

Skiing and Snowboarding Fun

The Edmonton Ski Club offers a fantastic experience for winter sports lovers. It's a perfect spot for both beginners learning to ski or snowboard and more experienced riders. The club makes sure there's always enough snow, even if nature doesn't provide much.

Awesome Lifts to the Top

Getting up the hill is easy with the club's four surface lifts.

  • Two Poma handle tow lifts pull you up gently.
  • A T-Bar lift is great for two people at once.
  • The SunKid carpet lift, installed in 2019, is like a moving walkway that takes you to the top. It's super easy for everyone, especially kids!

Winter Wonderland at Night

You can even ski and snowboard at night! The hill is lit up, making for a unique and exciting experience under the stars. It's a cool way to enjoy winter sports after school or work.

More Than Just Winter Sports

While the Edmonton Ski Club is famous for its winter activities, the slopes are also used for something special in the summer.

Home of the Edmonton Folk Music Festival

Every August, the ski slopes transform into a giant seating area for the Edmonton Folk Music Festival. Thousands of people gather here to listen to amazing music. It's a wonderful example of how one place can be used for different kinds of fun throughout the year.
