Edwards Plateau facts for kids
The Edwards Plateau is a special part of west-central Texas. It's like a big, raised area of land. Its edges are defined by different natural features. To the south and east, you'll find the Balcones Fault. To the north, it meets the Llano Uplift and the Llano Estacado. On the west side, it's bordered by the Pecos River and the Chihuahuan Desert.
Big cities like San Angelo, Austin, San Antonio, and Del Rio are generally around the edges of this area. The eastern part of the Edwards Plateau is also famous as the beautiful Texas Hill Country.
The Edwards Plateau covers a large area, including 41 different counties within Texas.
