Elena Bovina is a former professional tennis player from Russia. She was born on March 10, 1983. Elena was a very talented player. She reached a high singles ranking of No. 14 in the world in April 2005.

One of her best moments was reaching the quarterfinals of the 2002 US Open. She beat several strong players before losing to Lindsay Davenport.

In June 2005, Elena got a shoulder injury. This meant she had to stop playing for a while. She even lost her ranking in tennis. But she worked hard to get back on the court. She returned to the WTA Tour in October 2006.

Elena won many tennis titles during her career. She won three singles titles and five doubles titles. She also won a big mixed doubles title at the 2004 Australian Open with her partner Nenad Zimonjić. She was also part of the Russian team that won the Fed Cup in 2005. She played for the team from 2001 to 2003.

After not playing for four years, Elena returned to tennis in 2017. She played in some smaller tournaments during 2017 and 2018.

Elena played in two Grand Slam mixed doubles finals. She won one of them!

Winning a Grand Slam Title

Elena won the mixed doubles title at the 2004 Australian Open. She played with Nenad Zimonjić. They beat Leander Paes and Martina Navratilova in the final.
