Eline Berings (born May 28, 1986) is a retired Belgian athlete. She was a top competitor in the 100-meter hurdles race. Eline became a European junior champion in 2005. Later, she won her first major adult medal at the 2009 European Indoor Championships. Her fastest times were 12.72 seconds for the 100-meter hurdles and 7.92 seconds for the 60-meter indoor hurdles. After her career, she started working as an athletics commentator for the Belgian sports show Sporza.

Early Career and Junior Success
Eline Berings was born in Ghent, Belgium. She started her athletics journey as a junior athlete.
- In 2003, she competed at the World Youth Championships, finishing seventh.
- In 2004, she took part in the World Junior Championships.
- A big moment came in 2005 when she won the gold medal at the European Junior Championships. This was a huge achievement for her.

Becoming a Top Senior Athlete

- She reached the final at the 2007 European Indoor Championships, finishing eighth.
- Later in 2007, she set a new personal best of 12.97 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles at the World Championships.
Major Achievements and Challenges
Eline kept pushing her limits in major competitions.
- At the 2008 World Indoor Championships, she set another personal best of 8.05 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles.
- Her biggest success came at the 2009 European Indoor Championships. She won the gold medal in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.92 seconds. This was a new national indoor record for Belgium!
- In 2010, she reached the semi-finals at the World Indoor Championships.
- Unfortunately, a knee injury and a serious muscle tear in 2011 stopped her from competing. She missed defending her European indoor title.
- Eline made a comeback and competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 100-meter hurdles, reaching the semi-finals.
- In 2014, she reached the final at the European Championships, finishing in 8th place.
Life After Athletics
Eline Berings studied psychology during her athletic career. After she retired from competitive running, she started a new path. She now works as a sports psychologist. This means she helps other athletes with their mental strength and well-being. For example, she has advised Belgian figure skating champion Loena Hendrickx.
