History of Elizabeth, Minnesota
Elizabeth was first planned out in 1872. It was named after Elizabeth Niggler, who was the wife of one of the first people to settle there. Before it was called Elizabeth, a post office opened in 1871 with the name Elizabethtown. The name was officially changed to Elizabeth in 1882.
