Ellendale is a city located in Dickey County, North Dakota, in the United States. It's the main town, or county seat, of Dickey County. In 2020, about 1,125 people lived there. Ellendale was started in 1882. It is home to Trinity Bible College and the historic Ellendale Opera House, which is being fixed up.

Discovering Ellendale's Past
Ellendale became the main town for the new Dickey County in 1882. This was also the year the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad arrived. The city was named after the wife of S. S. Merrill.
