Emily Mallory Procter (born October 8, 1968) is an American actress. She is also known for her work helping others. She played Ainsley Hayes in the TV show The West Wing (2000–2002; 2006). She also played Detective Calleigh Duquesne in the crime show CSI: Miami (2002–2012).

Early Life and Education
Emily Procter was born on October 8, 1968. She was adopted as a baby by William Procter, a doctor, and Barbara Jones, who volunteered. She grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her parents divorced when she was three years old. She has an older brother, Whit, who was also adopted.
Emily went to Ravenscroft School in Raleigh. Later, she studied at East Carolina University. While there, she joined a sorority called Alpha Delta Pi. She also worked as a weather reporter for a TV station, WNCT-TV, in Greenville, North Carolina. She earned degrees in journalism and dance.
Acting Career
After college, Emily Procter moved to Los Angeles to become an actress. Her father helped her pay for acting school for two years.
In 1995, she appeared in the popular TV show Friends. She played Annabel, a character who briefly liked Joey Tribbiani.
From 2000 to 2002, and again in 2006, Emily Procter had a role in the TV show The West Wing. She played Ainsley Hayes, a lawyer who worked for the White House. This show was about how the U.S. government works.
Emily Procter became very well known for her main role as Calleigh Duquesne in CSI: Miami. This show was a spin-off from CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. She played a detective who solved crimes. The show was on TV for 10 seasons, from 2002 to 2012.
In 2007, Emily Procter took part in the Live Earth event. This event aimed to raise awareness about climate change. She read an essay written by a student named Michelle Gardner-Quinn.
In 2013, Procter appeared in the last two episodes of season four of the crime drama White Collar. She played Amanda Callaway, an FBI agent.
Activism and Helping Others
In 2019, Emily Procter started a nonprofit organization called Ground Breakers. This group works to support change and build stronger communities. Ground Breakers helps people learn to understand their feelings and talk about them. This helps them solve problems peacefully.
The Ground Breakers team also works with Defy Ventures. This is another nonprofit group that helps people who have been in prison. They offer programs at places like Kern Valley State Prison and Nightingale school in Stockton, California.
Personal Life and Hobbies
Emily Procter has been with musician Paul Bryan since 2008. They have a daughter named Philippa Frances, who they call "Pippa." She was born on December 8, 2010. Because Emily was pregnant, her appearances in the ninth season of CSI: Miami were limited.
Emily Procter enjoys staying active. She has taken part in many triathlons and marathons. These are long races that include swimming, biking, and running. She also loves playing poker and has played in celebrity tournaments.
She sings in a band that plays songs from the 1980s. The band was first called White Lightning, but now it's called Motion. Emily also volunteers her time. She has helped with the Young Storytellers Program and at homeless shelters.
Emily Procter is interested in interior decoration and antiques. She used her skills to decorate her own home in Los Angeles. It's a Spanish-style house built in 1921.
