Emina Jahović (Serbian Cyrillic: Емина Јаховић; born on January 15, 1982) is a famous singer from Serbia. She was born and grew up in Novi Pazar. Emina started her music career in 2002 and has released six studio albums. These albums include Tačka (2002), Radije ranije (2005), Vila (2009), Metamorfoza (2014), Dalje (2018), and Svitanje (2025).
Besides singing, Emina also acted in the TV show Lale Devri from 2010 to 2014. She was also a judge on popular singing shows like X Factor Adria in 2013 and Rising Star Türkiye in 2016.

Early Life and Education
Emina Jahović was born on January 15, 1982, in Novi Pazar, Serbia. Her mother, Senija, was a children's doctor, and her father, Nusret, was a heart doctor. Emina has two older brothers, including Mirsad Türkcan, who is a well-known basketball player. Emina's father passed away when she was thirteen years old.
She started learning music in middle school and took acting classes in high school. Later, Emina went to Braća Karić University in Belgrade and earned a degree in management.
Music Career Highlights
Emina began her music journey by joining local music festivals. She won a youth festival in Montenegro with her song "Samo ti, moja muziko" (meaning "Only You, My Music"). Her first album, Tačka ("Enough"), came out in 2002. She even competed in a pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest with a song from this album.
In 2004, Emina toured with the pop-rock band Hari Mata Hari in Bosnia and Herzegovina and North America. Her second album, Radije ranije ("Rather Sooner"), was released in 2005 and had popular songs like "Da l' ona zna" ("Does She Know"). Collaborations and International Success
In 2007, Emina worked with the Serbian group Flamingosi on the song "La Gitana" ("The Gypsy Woman"). The music video for this song won an award. The next year, she released her first English song, "Exhale", which was made in New York City. The music video for "Exhale" was shown on MTV Adria.
In December 2008, she released "Još ti se nadam" ("I'm Still Hoping for You"), a duet with Serbian singer Saša Kovačević. The music video for this song was one of the most expensive ever made in Serbian music.
Her third album, Vila ("Fairy"), came out in 2009. Emina wrote most of the songs on this album. It included a special duet with Dino Merlin called "Med" ("Honey"). Emina held a big concert in New Belgrade, Serbia, in October 2009 to celebrate her album. Many famous guests joined her on stage.
More International Projects
In 2011, Emina released two more songs, "Gospodine" ("Mister") and "Posle mene" ("After Me"). "Gospodine" was a duet with singer Nataša Bekvalac. The music video for "Posle mene" was filmed in Göcek, Turkey.
In 2012, Emina worked with Turkish producer and DJ Erdem Kınay on the song "Broken." This song was chosen as the most interesting dance track for Turkey by Eurodanceweb. She also released her first solo song in Turkish, "Kimse Yok Mu?" ("Is There Anyone?"). The Serbian version of this song, "I da mogu" ("Even If I Could"), became very popular in Southeast Europe. People sometimes call Emina the "Turkish J.Lo" because her style is similar to Jennifer Lopez.

In 2013, Emina won an award in Turkey for "Best Breakthrough Album." She also released the song "Nedostaješ" ("You're Missed"), which also had a Turkish version called "Yakışmaz" ("Unsuitable").
In June 2013, she announced her fourth album with the song "Žena zmaj" ("Dragon Lady"). Later that year, Emina became a judge and coach on the first season of X Factor Adria, a popular singing competition. Her album Metamorfoza ("Metamorphosis") was released in 2014 and sold many copies.

When she was 17, Emina married Aladin Đulović, but they divorced after only six months because his family didn't support her dream of becoming a singer.
On January 13, 2008, Emina married Turkish singer Mustafa Sandal. They met in 2004. They had two sons, born in 2008 and 2012. Emina also became a Turkish citizen in 2012. She and Mustafa Sandal divorced in 2018.
