Emmanuela "Emma" Marrone, known simply as Emma, is a famous Italian singer, songwriter, and actress. She was born on May 25, 1984.
Emma became well-known after winning the Italian talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi in March 2010. She then signed with Universal Music. Since 2010, she has released many successful albums and singles. Her music has topped the Italian charts four times. She has sold over 2 million records in Italy!
In 2012, Emma won the important Sanremo Music Festival with her song "Non è l'inferno". She later represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with "La mia città". Emma has worked with many international and Italian artists. She has also written songs and produced music for other singers.

Emma Marrone: A Star's Journey
Early Life and Musical Beginnings
Emma Marrone was born in Florence, Italy. She spent her early childhood in Sesto Fiorentino. When she was four, her family moved to Aradeo, where her parents were from. Emma got her love for music from her father, Rosario. He was a guitarist in a band called "Karadreon". Emma joined this band when she was about 10 years old. They performed at festivals and clubs. She was also in a band called H2O with her father. Emma finished classical high school and wrote her final paper about music. Before becoming a professional singer, she worked in a warehouse and as a saleswoman.
Becoming a Star: Talent Shows and First Hits
Emma started her professional music career in 2003. She joined the Italian TV show Popstars (later called Superstar Tour). Emma won the show and formed a group called Lucky Star with two other singers. Their song "Stile" was a hit in 2003. In 2006, the group recorded music for the cartoon W.I.T.C.H. and released a dance-pop album. After that, the band broke up.
In 2007, Emma formed another alternative rock band called M.J.U.R.. They released an album in 2008 with ten songs written by the band members. From 2007 to 2009, she also sang soul and funk with the band Anonimo Soul. Her uncle, Emidio Marrone, was in this band. Until 2009, she also played with H2O, her father's band.
In 2009, Emma joined another talent show, Amici di Maria De Filippi, and won! This was a big step for her.
Winning Sanremo and Eurovision Experience
In March 2010, Emma released her first solo music, an EP called Oltre. It was a huge success in Italy, reaching number one on the charts. Her first single, "Calore", also hit number one. The EP sold so well that it was certified triple platinum in Italy. It was the second best-selling album of 2010 in Italy.
In May 2010, Emma received an award for Oltre at the Wind Music Awards. She then started her first summer tour, the Ahi ce sta passu tour. In July 2010, she released her second single, "Un sogno a costo zero". Emma also won the Best Female Vocalist of the Year award at the Venice Music Awards.
In September 2010, Emma released a new single, "Con le nuvole". Her second solo album, A me piace così, came out in October. It reached number 2 on the Italian charts. In November 2010, a special edition of the album was released. It included her first EP and two new songs.
In February 2011, Emma was nominated for a TRL Award. She also took part in the Sanremo Music Festival 2011 with the group Modà. In November 2018, a new version of the album, Essere qui (Boom Edition), was released with four new songs. It re-entered the charts at number 3. The single "Mondiale" came out before this reissue. In February 2019, Emma started her Essere qui tour.
Recent Music and Acting
After her tour in March 2019, Emma went to Los Angeles to work on her next album. She said this trip helped her understand herself and what she wanted to do. In September 2019, Emma released "Io sono bella", the first single from her sixth album, Fortuna. The song was written by famous artists like Vasco Rossi.
In September 2019, Emma announced she needed a break for health reasons. She apologized to her fans and promised to come back stronger. In October 2019, Emma announced that her album Fortuna would be released on October 25, 2019.
