Highlights from the 1923 Season
Emmett McLemore had some exciting moments during the 1923 season.
On December 2, 1923, in a game against the Chicago Cardinals:
- He threw a touchdown pass to a teammate named Arrowhead.
- He also kicked a field goal. This happened after Joe Guyon made an interception (meaning he caught a pass meant for the other team).
- Even though he had these great plays, his team lost 22-19. He also missed two extra point kicks in that game.
- Later in the same game, McLemore kicked a punt that hit a Cardinals' player. His teammate Ted Buffalo quickly picked up the ball and scored!
A week later, on December 7, McLemore played another great game against the Louisville Brecks. He caught two passes from Joe Guyon for touchdowns, helping his team win 19-0.
